Institute of Scientometrics is a world interdisciplinary research institute in the field of Library and Information Science [LIS] and Science and Technology Indicators. It is a virtual and non-profit organization which has been set up by     Dr. S. L. Sangam in association with his students and friends on 27th March 2011 at Tumkur, India. This virtual centre will function under the leadership of Dr. S. L. Sangam in his capacity as coordinator.

Vision

To develop the Institute,with potential for excellence in the field of Library and Information Science/Scientometrics /Informetrics. To be on par with global development by understanding related statistical application in measuring scientific productivity for communication science.

Mission

To encourage continuous improvements in latest developments on LIS and Scientometrics models.

Objectives


  1. To promote research in Library and Information Science/Scientometrics
  2. To organize lecture, seminars, conferences, workshops, training programmes for the students and Library and Information Science professionals
  3. To publish quality journals, books for the disseminating of knowledge regarding these subjects
  4. To establish collaboration with other National and International, organizations and associations
  5. To bestow honorary memberships, prizes and awards to recognize people who have made exceptionally notable and distinguished contributions in their respective fields
